The previous issue of the World of Constant Connection offered a short review of the mobile phones available on the market today. We have decided to continue to inform you periodically about the developments in this field.

This time you will learn about the newest models by Motorola, Nokia and Siemens which have most recently appeared on the Georgian mobile phone market.

First of all, let us introduce Motorola L 7089, a new model from Motorola, one of the world’s leading mobile phone manufacturers. This is yet another innovation that Motorola has introduced into the mobile phone market. If previous models operated on one or two frequencies, Motorola’s new model operates on three different frequencies: 900, 1800 and 1900 MHz. It should be noted that only one of the three GSM standards, namely GSM 1900 MHz works on the American continent. Therefore L 7089 will obviously become an indispensable companion for those who frequently travel in both Europe and America. (In order to receive roaming services in the United States, there should be an agreement between your network operator and an American operator).

Along with technological innovations, Nokia tries to capture the mobile phone market with a refined design and a most comprehensive menu. In this respect, the company’s newest product, Nokia 7110, which works on two frequencies, 900 and 1800 MHz, can be considered as one of the best on the market. Nokia launched an advertising campaign long before the model appeared in the shops and its efforts definitely paid off. The demand for the product in September/October far exceeded the supply. In today’s market this says a lot.

Nokia 7110 reminds of the Nokia 8110 (a very popular model with the Georgians who have named it a “banana”) and Nokia 6110 models. However, it is much smaller in size, while its functions are significantly advanced. We will not describe the menu of the model here. As always it is comprehensive and very practical to use.

One more innovation from Nokia: unlike Nokia 8110, all you need in order to open the new model’s flip is... However, it would be better if you see and try everything for yourself.

Siemens too has truly delighted its customers with its new models.  It almost simultaneously introduced to the market two new models, C25 and S25, with completely changed designs and working on two frequences. The models are distinguished by their small size, and by their considerably lower prices compared with other phones of the same class. New functions include an alarm-clock, the ability to record 20 seconds of talk, a modem, a calendar and the possibility to create a VIP list, for which you can assign different ringer tones.
