On November 21st, MagtiCom and Deltacom have signed the Contract of purchasing the 100% share of Deltacom.

September 19, this year, MagtiCom and Deltacom made a joint application to the GNCC (Georgian National Communications Commission) for the purchasing of the 100% share of Deltacom by MagtiCom. Based on the above application, in order to detect the possible impact on the competition existing in the corresponding segment of the market the commission has launched administrative proceedings.

The GNCC, having studied the details of the above deal, has concluded there are no hindering circumstances for giving prior consent on the purchasing of the 100% share of Deltacom by MagtiCom. Thus, yesterday, November 18, the commission found it expedient to officially approve the deal between MagtiCom and Deltacom.

Deltacom Ltd is an internet provider owning the fixed and the backbone networks of local access to the infrastructures at the geographical points as follows: Tbilisi, Kakheti, Mtskheta-Mtianeti, Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Samtskhé-Javakheti, Adjara, Imereti, Kvemo Kartli and Shida Kartli.

This is the second big bargain for MagtiCom during the current year, wherein MagtiCom, as a result of purchasing the retail and corporative operational assets of Caucasus Online, added the fiber optic internet and the IPTV to its earlier existing business trends (mobile and fixed telephony and satellite TV).

By purchasing Deltacom, MagtiCom intends to materially expand the regional area of internet access which will be of benefit to the customers as well as to the communications industry and the entire economy of Georgia.

Deltacom will continue rendering service to its customers on behalf of Deltacom. Consequently, the existing customers of Deltacom shall continue receiving uninterrupted service therefrom.

MagtiCom is the first and the only operator in Georgia rendering up to 3 million customers the full range of telecommunications services: mobile and fixed telephony, satellite and IP television and fiber optic internet.
