00: New Code for International Calls
MagtiCom is the first GSM operator in Georgia having its own international gateway. From now on MagtiCom subscribers will use the “00”code, i.e. satellite communication of the Company, which will allow them to make calls anywhere, without any restriction and up to the world standards.
One point to be admitted is that MagtiCom international satellite communication is based on the latest technology of voice transmission: a new, alternative version of voice transmitting via satellite. Voice signal is transformed into the so called IP protocol and transmitted via satellite channel. As a result of inverse process at foreign operators’ the signal is transformed into a voice signal. Such technology, voice over the IP Protocol (VoIP), is quite new in the world practice. At the beginning many operators were careful in the choosing on the new system, but today it is already considered a high technological and economic solution for the transmision of international calls.
