the 5G share of Europe in overall investments is even

Interestingly, the same report also assesses average
expenses per customer (CAPEX). Again, fluctuations
by region are quite high, with Europe boasting
impressive statistics, 200 USD per consumer, in
this direction as well. This number is big enough to
establish a considerably high minimum threshold
for pricing and to question the feasibility of return
on investment (see Table 2). At the same time,
operators also need to keep their 2G, 2.5G, 3G, 3.5G,
4G, and 4.5G networks and infrastructures running,
an important aspect in itself. Combined, all this
increases expenses to as high as 300 USD.
