Sutidze. IS (Irakli Sutidze) lived the way he dreamed,
fantasized, and nourished his artistry with the
same dreams, something he needed to buttress his
creative system.
Irakli Sutidze was an equestrian, and he painted
horses. No, actually, the other way around, he
painted horses and was an equestrian. He painted
fish and was a fisherman. He painted Keti (Ketevan
Kordzakhia) and was Keti’s husband. He not only
painted his beloved horses, but also stitched bridles,
saddles, all their paraphernalia. He also used to
appear in attires of his own making and – sporting
a wide-brimmed hat, and leather pants and a jacket
with tassels – even grace the central streets of
Tbilisi with his presence. He spent most of his time
in Khevsureti and Tusheti, though. It is there that
